The Ultimate Guide To Excellent Visual Comedy For Filmmakers (By Tony Zhou, Well, And Edgar Wright, Mainly)

Edgar Wright – How to Do Visual Comedy from Tony Zhou on Vimeo.

Tony Zhou (that guy from “Every Frame A Painting”) does make a lot of valid points here. Just imagine these (still hilarious) U.S.-American comedies (Knocked Up, Hangover, everything with either Seth Rogen or Will Ferrell etc…) with some visual ideas like the ones showcased in this video!

If you love visual comedy, you gotta love Edgar Wright, one of the few filmmakers who is consistently finding humor through framing, camera movement, editing, goofy sound effects and music. This is an analysis and an appreciation of a director so awesome that Marvel had to fire him on a holiday.
