Ey yo, ey-yo.com could become a regular thing. Somehow. In some form. I don’t know.
From time to time I am going to spend a little time on creating an article with a nice selection of rather recent joints that you probably haven’t heard or read too much about so far – even if you regularly spend time scanning music blogs. Gucci Mane will probably never be involved in an ey-yo.com article, neither will Kanye West (unless we are talking about 10-years-ago-Kanye who has somehow gotten his hands on a time machine that you can buy on a college dropout budget or sum’n).
There’s going to be a lot of Boom Bap since it mos def doesn’t get the recognition it deserves elsewhere. You will also be subjected to a lot of European art. Same here. ‘Cause it’s underrated and underrepresented elsewhere. For the premiere we’ve got Bifug Zlavebric and the rest of belgian-german posse MOONTROOP, we’ve got a video tribute to Pharcyde’s “Ddddrrrrop” with an even better soundtrack and last but not least some rap cat from LA. Gebt euch!
BELGIAN-GER: Ṃ❍❍ℕŤℝ❍❍ℙ ☆☆☆ Rob Really – Section 8 (Prod. by Figub Brazlevič)
I am going to listen to anything Figub Brazlevic does. That’s a promise. I want to install some kind of baby monitor or something in his studio.
GER: Chefket feat. Amewu – Çok Güzel
Cok güzel is apparently turkish for “great”, “awesome” (source). And it’s a pretty accurate description of the whole audiovisual experience of this video I’d say. Amazing lyrics too. If anyone’s interested in a translation let me know. Why not do something for the culture for a change.
